„I have been running multimedia foundation course at Warsaw School of Information Technology since 2010. I teach a group of ca.160 students, most of them without experience in animation and film editing programmes (in spite of the fact that they were brought up on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator). The first semester is devoted to a series of short projects based on the properties of Adobe Photoshop, AfterEffects, Flash, Autodesk Softimage to provide the students with an introduction to creative possibilities of film creation as well as the art of film and its specific language. The second semester focuses entirely on realizing individual films. Each student is to produce a concept, write down a script and realize a short film (up to 1 min). I also wanted to be able to put these films together, therefore we used PAL D1 system.
Having run a postproduction studio for 25 years I educated quite a few good animators and digital film editors. Therefore I realize that this programme is truly basic. However, it is enough to get a taste for moving image and decide which way to proceed.”
