Performance description:

A story of a place during a decade (1943 – 1953) and about lives of several people connected with the place. But this is also a narration of the period of the last 80 years in Central Europe.

The production Neighbours asks basic questions about the reasons for the destruction of a place, but also the destruction of society and the destruction of relationships, human lives and values. The destruction which was not caused this time by occupation forces but sprouted and became deeply rooted in crofts and front gardens of Czech farmsteads.

The production Neighbours is an attempt to bring back our own history. It is the history of one place in our neighbourhood but in fact it could be anywhere in Europe. It is not a joyful story.
